Syracuse farm opens to annual field trips ahead of fall festival

Black Island Farms has opened its operations once again with the Classroom in the Corn program to help schoolchildren learn about the origins of the food they eat. Field trips to the 400-acre farm in Syracuse began Monday and will run through October. In addition, the farm will be open to the public for its fall festival from Sept. 21 to Oct. 31. Visitors will be treated to hayrides, bonfires, a farmer’s market and 24 acres of cornfield mazes (including a haunted one). The farm is at 3178 S. 3...
